Il gruppo comprende diverse linee di ricerca in fisica matematica pertinenti allo studio di strutture matematiche emergenti dalla fisica teorica fondamentale e applicazioni interdisciplinari. Tra gli interessi dei membri del gruppo ci sono: le strutture matematiche globali della meccanica e delle teorie di campo, in particolare delle teorie relativistiche; il calcolo delle variazioni su fibrati e relative leggi di conservazione; le strutture geometriche su varietà Riemanniane o pseudo-Riemanniane, derivanti dalla teoria delle stringhe e la corrispondenza olografica (AdS/CFT); metodi di fisica-matematica per lo studio di teorie supersimmetriche (ad esempio localizzazione); aspetti geometrico-algebrici e qualitativi delle equazioni differenziali di interesse fisico, biologico ed evoluzionistico.

Linee di ricerca:

  • Meccanica analitica, sistemi dinamici e complessi: Simmetrie e separazione delle variabili per le equazioni della fisica matematica.
  • Metodi geometrici e globali in fisica matematica: Teorie relativistiche. Leggi di conservazione ed entropia delle soluzioni singolari della gravitazione. Applicazioni alle teorie estese della gravitazione e alla cosmologia. Metodi geometrici per quantum gravity.
  • Strutture geometriche emergenti dalla teoria delle stringhe e dalla supergravità. Risultati esatti nella corrispondenza AdS/CFT. Metodi matematici per lo studio non-perturbativo di teorie di campo supersimmetriche.
  • Sequenze variazionali, coomologia e problemi inversi in calcolo delle variazioni. Aspetti fondazionali. Strutture di contatto, connessioni di Cartan, Campi di Higgs, integrabilità ed applicazioni in Neurogeometry.
  • Modellizzazione dei processi di risposta e valutazione dei test a risposta multipla in campo educativo-psicometrico.
  • Teoria evoluzionistica dei giochi e delle reti; Cambiamenti di conformazione e stabilita' di strutture biologiche complesse.
