Descrizione del progetto

The project is focused on:

Mathematical clarification of the relations between the existing models of network evolution based on branching structures;
Development of variants of those models to account for features of remarkable importance for the applications (e.g. non-Markov hypothesis, slowly-decreasing memory, general branching structure);
Characterization of the large-graph limits for the random graph sequences generated by the considered models.

Investigation of the role of a longer memory in the proposed models with attention to the presence of heavy tails in the characterizing distributions;
Development of mathematical tools needed for the study of the proposed models;
Applications of the developed techniques to the analysis of models of interest in different frameworks: Internet networks, Neurosciences, Macroevolutionary dynamics.
